Update: Now cog don't crash instantly, but for few seconds play it plays a very loud static noise, that seems to shift between the left and right speaker.

Weird. You haven't changed anything, have you ? I don't recall updating cog in the last few days

I don't know if it is. VLC handles unfinished video quite well (most of the time), so I guess it is possible. And any behavior would be better than a crash.

Solutions could be skipping to next file if file is broken, playing what works, then skipping, or probably more complicated, skipping till next finished part in the same file.

Thanks. I just tried MarsEdit, and I am quite impressed. I just don't want to fork out money. The wordpress interface works fine after all.

I'll give your suggestions a go

Ok, in audacity a dialog opens, that asks me to fill in the metadata. It asks if I want ID3v1 og ID3v2. It is on ID3v2 as a default, says more flexible, less compatible. (Clue, maybe)

I just press done, without filling in anything.

More work... and you had just gotten below 20. Wish I could do more than pile up problems.

Yeah, I have been using cog to review my newly created mp3's for a webfeature. So don't worry about the romanian gibberish. I don't understand it either.

But I have been using Cog in a different way, than usual. Opens up new angles. The dockthing was just chance though.

I don't know if it has any significance, but the one showing 'not playing' is an .mp3 and the one blanking out is a .wav.

Or maybe it is just random

Hey

Sorry to use this forum for a completely unrelated purpose.

Anyway, does anyone know of a open source/freeware bloging tool for mac. Just like marsedit, but free.

Thx ahead.

Interestingly the files also crashes Play. I don't know if the problem is buried in some ancient piece of code shared with Play?? It plays nicely in VLC

Hey.

I don't remember seeing this described anywhere.

When I press the show/hide toolbar button, the playlist rolls up. Nice, but then there is a slight glitch in the graphics.

It looks like the bar below the playlist, is drawn on top of the toolbar for just a fraction of a second. Not too pretty.

Cheers and nice job to devs. Only 19 bugs to go, until 0.08 stable version (unless more are added) :-)

Hey Jack

Yep Cog is a fine lightweight music player, that supports a lot of different musicformats. Most notably Flac, that is not supported by iTunes.

Welcome to the forums. People here can help you with anything

Thanks.

Probably true about the paw, I just wonderes... And hey, they are both open source, so maybe the logos are too.

Update: My bad, I compared trac's icon to growl's menu bar item icon, which is extremely similar to trac's.

Hi Vspader

I just reviewed your latest bugfix... Of course it is filled with other bugs... Just kidding wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two.

But in trac you have documented the changes... Is that automatically generated? If so, how clever of the trac guys (who either ripped off, og got ripped off by, growl on the logo (or maybe they are the same band of heroes)). If not wow, I am impressed on your dedication to keeping records.

Keep up the good work, whatever .shn files and cue-sheets are, they seem to be very popular.

Cheers

Zitz

Ps. Sorry if the middel sentence doesn't make sense.

Hey Knacker.

Welcome aboard... In the 0.08 nightlies you have a miniplayer (accessed by clicking in the little button on the upper right corner).

There has been a discussion on skinnabilty, and it might come in a later version as far as I remember. At least the option of added custom icon sets. No matter what happens in that department, I think it is fairly certain, that a native look will be default.

I don't think I have heard of a request for multiple playlists, so maybe you should drop a line about it in the feature request section. It is a novel idea.

Cheers

Zitz

You don't have to use or like Cog. Since this feature is so universal maybe another player is the right one for you.

Cog is programmed by just few persons, and features are slowly added. From version 0.08 the developers decided to move to Leopard and not make Cog backward compatible. The decision has been discussed elsewhere in the forums. I guess that the skipping feature wasn't prioritized earlier, and since the whole project have moved to Leopard the feature is only available in Leopard.

Feel free to port the changes back to 0.07. Cog is open source.

Hey

When you shift right forward the control menu blinks. I don't it is pretty-

Oops. It is probably only in version 0.08 nightly builds. If you set your update settings to get the nightlies you can try it out. It is leopard only though.
