Topic: [General] cog leopard dac flac

Hi All,

I just purchased macmini with leopard and the decco amp/dat. I am anxious to start.  I'm sort of new working on the computer. Anyway, is Cog a player also?

Re: [General] cog leopard dac flac

Hey Jack

Yep Cog is a fine lightweight music player, that supports a lot of different musicformats. Most notably Flac, that is not supported by iTunes.

Welcome to the forums. People here can help you with anything

Cheers

OK, thanks, so if I rip flac files with Cog I can't play in itunes? Right? So, I'll use Cog. Would you say the rip is audiophile grade? Ofcourse I'm not an audiophile but would like to have the best quality. jj

Re: [General] cog leopard dac flac

thank you, I'll do that. Looking forward to the experience. I'm going to try a rip with max and play back with cog. I will report to the forum.

Re: [General] cog leopard dac flac

Max can rip and convert. Cog plays. I understood before. What are you saying?

Re: [General] cog leopard dac flac

Well, if you already have FLAC files, you can play them in Cog. No conversion needed.

But if you have the music on a CD, then yes, you would use Max to rip the songs from the CD and make files with them.
Then you can play those files in Cog/iTunes/any player.

Maybe I misunderstood your previous posts.

That's ok. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks jj
