Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
Shift right is fast forward, but you can't set how long it skips
Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
Maybe in other programs. But in Cog, even that doesn't work at the moment. This is why I was suggesting/requesting a keyboard-controllable skip forward/backward function, with a user-specifiable increment.

Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
Oops. It is probably only in version 0.08 nightly builds. If you set your update settings to get the nightlies you can try it out. It is leopard only though.
Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
I see. Yeah, a simple feature like skipping forward/backward certainly shouldn't require a whole OS upgrade.
Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
You don't have to use or like Cog. Since this feature is so universal maybe another player is the right one for you.
Cog is programmed by just few persons, and features are slowly added. From version 0.08 the developers decided to move to Leopard and not make Cog backward compatible. The decision has been discussed elsewhere in the forums. I guess that the skipping feature wasn't prioritized earlier, and since the whole project have moved to Leopard the feature is only available in Leopard.
Feel free to port the changes back to 0.07. Cog is open source.
Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
It doesn't. If you want to add it to the 0.07 unstable, by all means...
Re: Skip forward/backward feature [in 0.07]
Amar99, I can say that -- as a Tiger user who doesn't plan to move to Leopard anytime soon -- I for one would be grateful for any contributions you'd make to the 0.07 unstable version.
