Maybe there should be some actual text saying "these keys work in all apps" or something like that above the boxes that you use to select the keys.
But then, that would mean having to translate that string into 6 languages, which I'm guessing you want to avoid.
The behavior in Cog is that once you press Stop, if you press Play, it'll play whatever song is selected in the playlist.
And if nothing is selected in the playlist, it'll play the first song.
(And of course, if there is no song, it just won't do anything.)
So basically, when you press Stop, the song you were playing isn't really "selected" anymore.
Currently, when you press Stop, the last song played is still displayed (title and artist) at the top of the window and also in the Dock menu.
Since it isn't really the selected one anymore, this is a bit misleading.
I suggest that when you press Stop, both the song display in the window and Dock menu should go back to the state they had when you first start Cog.
small, related side issue:
When you first start Cog, the Dock menu reads:
Untitled
Untitled
Perhaps they should just be 2 blank entries?
It's currently Command Return.
The standard in most apps (Finder, iTunes, etc.) is Command R.
I think having the error message where the song title is would work. (Since the song can't be played, then there's no title to be displayed anyway.)
Having it at the bottom would kinda be an anomaly, since though the bottom bar of many apps serve as a Status Bar, Cog's bottom bar isn't one.
This could be a good idea. Would be very handy when building playlists.
However, would multi-level actually be a better idea?
Not like 50 Undo's obviously, but 3-5.
I think this could even be done through Edit > Undo/Redo.
There should be no risk that it would get "confused" or mixed up with Undo's/Redo's done in the Search box,
since whenever you "leave" the Search box (click elsewhere), its Undo's/Redo's disappear.
