We had that discussion already before - basically i mentioned the same wish as felipead - that a click on the app-icon should always show the main-window.

Those days it was referenced as default behaviour.

hehe ..... good idea on your side - totally forgot to check how other apps handle that - sorry about  that.

Mh once again one of those things which seem to be osx-default but still annoy - anyway - thank you for the feedback vincent

Hello,

i am using Cog now since i do have a mac and i love it - but there is a small issue i really dislike.

Basically its about how Cog logs into console.app on Mac OS X

It would be really great to write log-output in a single log-file instead of the current situation which floods console.app without need (from my point of view as non-developer)

Would be great to know if there is a specific reason for that logging-behaviour or if its just as it is as nobody hasn

No issues at all - just works like a charme in my daily usage.

I guess a small improvment is still possible but far away from needed and i'm not even sure if its technical possible at all.
If the loudnesss-icon would include a small bar which would represent the actual state it would be a nice addition.

Like a small bar which represents the full range and a diffrent coloured filling displaying the current state.

But as pointed out above .... that would be just a small eye-candy improvement.

Best regards & once again thank you Vincent

Sorry for the late response i was travelling the last 4 weeks.

regarding the new loudness controll:
* till now it works like a charme here
* big big big improvement from my point of view
* big thanks once again to you for this great player.

gonna play more with it in the next days - gonna feedback if i notice any strange behaviour or similar.

Hi - anyone working on that ?

*sorry for double-posting- but seems like the idea gone lost*

Everytime i startup Cog the sound-level (lodness) is about on 70%,
this is somenow not the best method from my point of view.

Wouldnt it make sense to save the last loudness-level ?

Maybe it is related with my setup - using optical out to my hifi-setup.

As i don't assume this is supposed to act like that i post this in the bug-forum.
If i'm wrong and this behaviour is supposed to be like that i would like to modify it as feature request smile

Best regards & thanks for Cog
fidel

Hello,

i would like to ask if the idea is somehow in the long-term feature-plan. Like 0.1 or something like that ? Would be great to know how to keep tracks of long-term planned features.

guess you misunderstood me. I totally agree that horizontalfree solution is the way to go big_smile

Thanks for the link to remain's thread.

yeah a horizontal scrollbar would be ugly.

but i still think working with optional percentage values for some columns would make sense.
for some other columns a fix size would be great as you mentioned already.

lets see what other ideas come around in this thread

Hi smile

b) was for sure ment as optional setting. I totally agree that this is not a feature which is compatible for everyone.

Well i have tested some Apple Applications:

i.e. Dictionary, Safari.

Both apps reopen the minimized Window if you click one of the following:

* Dock Icon
or
* Minimized window in the dock

The advantage of that double-function is quite clear for me:
--
The application icon is a way better an eye-catcher for the user then a symbol for a minimized icon of the application-window with a really small application icon

So basicaly it really looks like a small mal-function in cog from my point of view

Hi,

i am using Nightly Builds on 10.5

In the daily "workflow / usage" with Cog i do resize the window-size really often.
Basicly to see more content of a single column i.e.: Album or Title or Filename .....

Cog offers the option to define which column are displayed and which not, this is great so far but it really would help if there would be an option to define a size-value for single columns i.e. using a percentage-value.

Conclusion:
* At the moment a "window-resize" by the user does not change the size of a column with content automaticly.
* Option in preferences or similar to auto-resize or even define a percentage value for a column size would be helpful.

Like always....lets see what you think (maybe i am the only one working like that regarding the column-width)

I would contact Vincent in your case, but i guess if you are able to port it and pay the 99 $ to be able to add your port to the apple store many iphone-users will be happy.

on the other hand: arent iphone users supposed to be doomed to itunes anyway ?
Not sure about thats, just guessing

i'll let surprise myself by your development / how you implement it big_smile

Hi Guys

* new status column in r801 is working great

I have to agree to the others....the latest development in this project is just great. Thanks for your time spending to the development.

@Vincent or areff:
a) Regarding the images i could give it a try. I am far away from being a professional image-manipulator, but lets see. how about writing me the relevant informations in a PM and i'll see what i can do. Without warranty for sure.
Or is it listed somewhere in trac ?

b) regarding localization:
is there any plan to add additional languages ?
I could offer my native language (german) if you are interested in.

Greetings

fully agree.

I don't know if i would use it as a default setting myself, but having the option to make/run Cog "on top" is great.
