Re: 0.08 Nightly
Uh... can't seem to get it running.
Bounces once in the Dock then stops. (If not kept in the Dock, it'd appear and disappear before it's even done appearing.)
Still occurs even after getting rid of the Cog folder in Application Support and both com.vspader.cog.plist and org.cogx.cog.plist.
Also tried trashing the Cog folder and org.cogx.cog folder in Caches.
So yeah, "Things are still EXTREMELY unstable" is pretty right on. ;p
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Haha. I don't even get the icon moving in the dock. All I get is a slight spasm in the dock.
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Wow, yeah I didn't think it was THAT unstable ! Any crash logs?
Re: 0.08 Nightly
When I lauch it I just get the spasm in the dock. Cog doesn't how up in acivity monitor and I don't get a crash report.
Edit: typo

Re: 0.08 Nightly
Hey.
Now it works fine. I am playing a (rather) small set of mp3's.
I really like the toolbar interface. Everything looks good.
I am not too keen on your volume control. I prefer the slider to be visible, as the button-thing seems to add another step to changing the volume.
The texr-only toolbar is pretty useless, as it only opens the buttons when pressed. In my opinion lose it. Or make it a hide toolbar thing.
The small icons selection also seem redundant as the difference is very small. My opinion lose it or make the standard icons bigger.
Another piece of input. It would be great to make the currently playing song more visible. I mostly use cog for audiobooks, and often the tracks are called 1, 2, 3 etc. and they are quite hard to distinguish from the not playing songs (maybe a feature request).
Overall, looks good.
Happy working
Zitz
Re: 0.08 Nightly
The slider may take another step, but it also saves a lot of space. It also gives room to display (in text) your current volume, which will be nice.
As far as the toolbar goes, these are standard OS X options, so I won't likely remove them.
The currently playing item issue will probably be fixed once playback/error indicators are in place.
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Standards are standards, so I understand why you want to go with it. I just think it seems a bit 'unprofessional' to have a small icons option, when there is hardly any difference. The text-only option is arguably working as a 'hide toolbar option' I guess.
Maybe people use the app. in different ways, but I always keep it wide enough for a volume slider (last complain, I won't further argue with your decision)
I have been listening to my audiobook for an hour now, and it just keep playing nicely. And the toolbar is really pretty, I like it.
So thumbs up from me.

Re: 0.08 Nightly
I am huge fan of customizable toolbars and love the functionality. I agree with the above: have options, the slider should be on the bar, and that I never use search either (not yet anyways).
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Cog r642 is still not working for me, crashes as soon as I open it.
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Rixton: Please post or email a crash log.

Thanks! I'll take a look tonight.

Re: 0.08 Nightly
Well, the plan was to have sparkle check for the minimum system version, but there was a bug in it which caused it to not check it properly, so there you have it. I figure people using the nightlies would just be aware, and putting a big 10.5 ONLY when the release version comes around will suffice.
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Say, is there a reason that separators aren't available in the toolbar customization sheet?
I thought they came with standard toolbars by default.
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Ive got both space and flexible space. But you mean a line to seperate the tools?
Maybe it's discontinued?
Re: 0.08 Nightly
Yeah, the dotted line.
I don't think it's been "discontinued," as it's still in most Apple apps. (One exception would be Safari, which does not even have space and flexible space.)
