Currently (r887), Command Control double-clicking does work. (to reverse the pref of "clear when adding" and "autoplay when adding")
Unfortunately, Command Control Enter does not, so there is no keyboard-only way to do this right now.
Additionally, if these changes are made, then I think the "Add to Playlist" button should be removed, seeing as 1) the File Tree Panel doesn't have an "Add to Playlist" button and 2) it would be no longer needed.
Also, currently, "Add to Playlist" is not true if you set the prefs to "clear when adding."
Currently (r887), the only way to add files in the search results of the Spotlight Panel is to either drag them to the playlist, or to select then click the "Add to Playlist" button.
1) Double-clicking songs in the search results should open or enqueue (depending on prefs).
2) Pressing Enter should open or enqueue (depending on prefs) selected songs.
3) The Command Control modifier (to reverse the pref) should work in both #1 and #2.
note: Right now, holding Command Control and clicking on a song in the search results will bring up the context menu. This should be prevented.
Nope, it would seem this hasn't been fixed for the 0.08 builds either,
though it seems to work properly in the Track and Length columns (dunno about Year), but it doesn't work in at least the Title column (only one I've tested).
r887 is out.
It would seem it has the changes made in Vasfed's last build (his "build 887").
Well... it does work.
Command Control Down works, but (as previously mentioned) Command Control O does not work.
However, personally, I find it very annoying that because Command is in the modifier keys, it keeps selecting/deselecting files when I enqueue files in the Finder. =\
I still think Shift would be a better choice, because 1) Shift double-clicking does not unselect/reselect files, 2) both Command Shift O and Command Shift Down work, and 3) Shift is one key, while Command Control are 2 (keyboard shortcuts = the simpler, the better!).
...Yes, I know I'm stubborn. ;p
Still. regardless of whatever we settle on at the end, I do really appreciate your efforts, Vasfed!
Kudos to you!!
Personally, I think Shift and Shift Control aren't so bad, and the only minor side effect of the slow-mo animation only occurs if you double-click in the Finder. (which hippy dave has promised not to use ;p )
There are zero side effects when dropping onto the Dock icon, opening through Open With, double-clicking in the File Tree Panel, and any other cases (which I cannot think of right now).
I meant drag & drop into the playlist. (I'll edit.)
Yeah, it's true that it could be seen as "intrusive," like how a lot of Windows program installers would install "extra features" without asking first.
Yeah, the modifier key is a good idea, though I do find modifier keys a hassle sometimes. (requires both hands)
Still, that definitely should be the way to go.
The other alternative of a contextual menu item isn't bad either, since it does give the user the choice to install it. (separate file in the DMG)
But then again, for the Open With way, it would be a separate .app, so users would still have the option to install it or not. (once again, a separate file in the DMG)
OK, in r886, no longer crashes at launch if playlist is empty.
But still starts playing at launch.
Just noticed this.
If you launch Cog while "Begin playback immediately when entries are added" is on, and there are no songs in the playlist, Cog will crash.
