Interestingly the files also crashes Play. I don't know if the problem is buried in some ancient piece of code shared with Play?? It plays nicely in VLC

Both Cog and Play use MAD, and the mp3 decoders that are being used are based off each other. I'll try to take a look this weekend. Cog shouldn't crash on an mp3, broken or not...

Update: Now cog don't crash instantly, but for few seconds play it plays a very loud static noise, that seems to shift between the left and right speaker.

Weird. You haven't changed anything, have you ? I don't recall updating cog in the last few days

I haven't, but bugs like these are pretty hairy so sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't.
