Topic: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

Hi there...

I found a bug:

I was listening to a long record I made which is over 7hrs!
until min 203:50 everything works fine but when I click on a position behind 203:50min the marker jumps to the beginning and restarts at 0:00!!  the app doesn't crash and the music continues whithout any effect...
I tried QT and there it works fine...

File: mp3 __ 160kbit/s cbr __ 44.1kHz __ stereo
Cog Version: 0.7
OSX Version: 10.5.1

Console doesn't show me anything...

Re: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

Besides the point, but why would you make a 7 hour long mp3?

Ok, explains it. DJ's play forever...

I have been to a few of my friend's raveparties, and it is interesting to see that there is such a huge difference on DJ's. At one rave a girl from Berlin, Rebekkah Aff, played, and even I got hooked. Damn she could put together a mix.

When the sun started getting up it was mostly loud bass though.

Re: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

i've just encountered this bug, having downloaded an mp3 of an autechre radio show from the weekend, that is marginally under 12 hours long tongue

it actually occurs at 202 minutes 53 seconds for me. when playback reaches that time, the blob jumps back to the left end of the bar and the time display goes back to zero, tho the audio keeps playing as it should. same with seeking to any point after that time - blob & time display ping back to zero, but the audio plays from the actual time you seek to.

any thoughts on a fix? ideally in a tiger-friendly build as well as your new-fangled leopard doobrie wink

edit: just checked the old bug linked above - it used to occur at 101:27, so it's just been doubled lol

Re: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

It's been fixed in svn, but I guess that doesn't help you much. Are you using an older version of the source code to compile your own Tiger Cog, or are you just using a released version that works on Tiger?

If you're compiling your own, I can guide you to a fix, but there's no easy fix for a precompiled version, as you need to get down and dirty with the source code (even though it's a very easy and quick fix) smile

Re: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

i'm currently running the latest precompiled build of 0.07, but i'd be happy building it from svn, have done before, so if you could guide me to what needs fixing that would be great - cheers! big_smile

dear god, subversion takes a long time to install roll
(haven't used it since i replaced my hard drive a while ago)

Re: [bug] timeline doesn't show correct position after 203:50mins

yep that's fixed it, thanks a lot mate! cool

only odd thing is, the version i've just built claims to be r635, even tho it's fresh from svn, and as far as i can tell, is actually the latest r717. how can i convince it that it's actually r717?
edit: never mind, found it - info.plist smile
