Topic: [Development] Better not too many features...

There is already Max, Tag and Play and -- uh well -- iTunes and SongBird.
This .app may need a couple of minor enhancements over the next releases to come -- but in general it's somewhat minimalistic and cool an .app and imho should not be overloaden with features.

Yeah, but if I don't have a forum for it, they would be littered around the development forum, or people would just email me them. If they put them here, I can safely ignore them and people can feel as if they were listened to! tongue

Cog can definitely still use some enhancement.  I can see a lot of changes coming. Nothing most people would actually notice, probably. Things like more plugins, a better playback system, support for multi-track files, all that stuff. I want Cog to be extensible, where the core is very minimalist, but you can still have it make coffee with it, should you desire (and someone wrote a plugin for it).

I think that software can have tonns of features without being bloatware. The thing I really don't like however, is software that tries to be everything. I prefer feature-rich, but specialized programs, that do one thing good than programs that can do a lot of things... but it's not good in any of these tasks.

I wouldn't turn Cog into a media center capable of playing music, movies, pictures and even the Mac chess. Better concentrate on making a great music player. So far it's awesome smile.
