Topic: Volume management

Hi...

Thanks for the extremely brilliant, light weight, simplistic, user friendly player. But there's a very funny, unitelligible contrast to all these qualities; why on earth is there such an absurd volume management?!

When I've first used it, I've thought to replace itunes with Cog, but finding in comparison with itunes a distortion in playback I gave up. And now I've read in a thread that this was intentional (!?!), and that in restarting the program the sound level should return to normal (%100) in such an absurd position (near the middle), so as not to distort playback at maximum (%200) volume. But why include such an absurd and confusing option, %200 volume level, the posibility to distort playback, in the first place?!!

Apologies for the long-windedness; and this may not be considered a bug, but it seems absurdly so in such a nice program.

Respectfully,
Burak

Re: Volume management

I have an old iBook and the speakers are pretty terrible. It makes sense to be able to go above 100% in situations when you are not concerned with the quality of the output and just want to be able to hear it.

Yes, the feedback is not great, but I hope to fix that by having a tooltip when you are moving the slider.

Re: Volume management

I' really sorry for your "Yes, the feedback is not great". Really, this is a very brilliant player, the best I've seen; and I'm really respectfull. I was speaking (writing) tongue in cheek, and maybe over-friendly, but it seems I could not relate this. Please accept my apologies; that was not my intention.

Edit: Re-read my original now and see that it was really a bad writing, not my native language. Good wishes.
