Topic: Can't add to playlist, if something is written in [search box]

If I put cake in the spotlight, and then try to add Alphabeat, nothing is added.

I thought it might be added hidden(ly?), but killing the spotlight shows that nothing is added to the playlist.

What is the preferred behavior?

1) Add files hidden by the spotlight

2) Kill the spotlight

I prefer the second option.

Did I miss this smewhere else or don't anyone care?

hurt feelings all around... ;-)

I am a bit confused by what is happening here? Are you saying that if you have files loaded in the spotlight window you can't add files to Cog by dragging them from the Finder?

Re: Can't add to playlist, if something is written in [search box]

Step 1
I search for anything in spotlight... the little search field with the magnifying glass... and leave the search in the search field

Step 2
I add tracks from the file tree

Result...
Nothing happens

Re: Can't add to playlist, if something is written in [search box]

I think I know why I am being ignored.

I thought spotlight was the search field in the tool bar. So I just found the spotlight window. Oops.

Maybe cog works as others expect it to, but not in my opinion.

So, for last time I promise, I will go over the issue again.

1. Search for anything in the search field in the tool bar

2. Add tracks from a folder in finder or the file tree window

3. Nothing happens

I would either expect:

a.  the tracks to be added behind the search (probably a poor solution, because I wouldn't realize there was a search and start nagging about the app not working)

b. the search to cancel out and show the entire list of music... newly added tracks included.

Cheers

Sorry! This should be taken care of now, using solution b. smile

Working. You guys work fast at the moment... Once people make a problem clear to you (shame on me!) you have it fixed within a week in most cases.

One additional suggestion, that might fall under a different discussion. When new files are added in a huge playlist, maybe it would be great if the first new track was highlighted (blue lined).
