Topic: A few suggestions [tag editor, sort by track/disc, RG, more sorting]
1) Implement a tag editor. I know you want to create a simple player and don't want to do library stuff, I respect that and hope you keep that up, but one feature I'd love is a simple tag editor. I wouldn't normally mind it's absence, but the problem is that there is no good (and free) MP3 tagging application (that I've been able to find) on Mac OS besides iTunes, and I'm trying to move away from that. There is a nice tagger called Tag, but it only works on FLAC, OGG and a few others, not MP3s.
1A) If you implement said tag editor, give us a way to move and rename the files based on the tags iTunes-style. It's one of the iTunes features I love.
2) Sort files by track # (and disc # when applicable) when importing them. Many of my FLAC files (probably MP3s as well) don't have a zero prepended ("1" rather than "01"), and when I import an album with <=10 tracks I end up getting them in the order 1,10,11,12,2,3..., which is sort of annoying. Just a minor fix that would make it that much better for me.
3) Replaygain support (maybe even including a scanner and tagger). No explanation required here, it would just be a nice feature.
4) Let us sort by more than just the default set. Stuff like filetype and bitrate would be good to see.
... I think there was something else but it's almost 2 in the morning and it's not coming to mind. Anyways, keep up the great work on this project, it seems to be coming along very nicely and of the two iTunes alternatives (this and Play) I like this one way better. It's simple, lightweight, plays every format and doesn't have a persistant library. It must be tough being a competitor to the juggernaut that is iTunes, but know that there are those of us who appreciate your work. Next time I fill my Paypal I'll try to get you a donation.
EDIT: Sorry for the bad topic title, didn't read the sticky.
