Just a quickie.
May be me, but has anyone noticed the gapless playback being a bit less.... well umm gapless.
was listening to some albums last night, and there is a slight gap (few milliseconds) inbetween tracks.
Could just be my mp3's, but i dont remember them doing that on older versions.
Dismiss if its just me being a turnip 
mp3 is not a gapless format. Some encoders add non-standard metadata to help make it gapless, but Cog does not read this information yet.

what formats are truely gapless then?
pretty much all of them but mp3.
