I can change the default, sure. Basically, if a length isn't found, it picks 2:30 (150 seconds). It's hardcoded at the moment, and that likely won't be fixed until plugins can have preferences.

I dunno. I was considering making it shorter after having the megaman level select music played for the 20th time within the 2:30 it has now. 4:00 sounds a bit long though, most songs that I've heard are pretty short, and have time to repeat at least once within the current time limit.

It's difficult to say what's best. The songs meant to be short (like was said, level select music) start to grate your nerves after a while but then don't forget there are some ending songs that are non-looping and last 20+ minutes (like some of the Final Fantasy's). Hopefully it can be worked out to make this user selectable.

Bump.
The default length of 2:30 still somewhat bugs me.
Every once in a while, I get a song that gets cut off during its 2nd loop, or worse, get cut off during its 1st loop.
I think 3:30-4:00 would be a bit better.
