Topic: Replaygain?

Is there any chance that next version will add this feature?  I think it is vital for a lot of people.  Personally, I guess RG and tag edition should be prioritised.

Re: Replaygain?

Just to let everyone know, I think Cog actually supports Replay Gain (as long as the file has been already scanned). I have my music collection on 3 different machines (windows -> foobar2k, linux -> quod libet, mac -> cog) and all the songs were scanned by foobar2k to have track-only gain values. When I load them in Cog, they automagically have the same volume levels (as they should). smile

As for replay gain scanning, I don't think this is super urgent, as you can do this in OS X using MacMP3Gain or Play.

Re: Replaygain?

The next version won't support RG. Perhaps in a future version...

Re: Replaygain?

For me the essential part of computer audio is the ability of listening track from different albums. Therefore some kind of volume leveling is very important for me. Otherwise I must adjust the volume continuously, which takes away the joy of listening.

I am using XP and I will not switch to Mac because of iTunes. Cog meets most of my wishes except replay-gain.

Hope you rethink about supporting replay-gain (or something similar) for the next release.

Re: Replaygain?

I was just following up to see if this may be implemented at any point in the near future.  The ability to scan for replaygain and to read...  There is only one app for OS X that writes replaygain to the metatags, but seems to take quite a while...

Re: Replaygain?

Sorry, but the next version still won't be supporting it. It's currently marked for 0.11+, but I'll likely reprioritize things once 0.08 is finished.

Re: Replaygain?

Thank you for the update!
