Topic: You guys rock

registered just to say that. I have been looking for a looooooong time for something like that on osx. I don't hate itunes, but i certainly don't love it either, and it really has poor support of weirdish file formats. VLC is clunky to use as hell, and amarok is both a pain to install and going in (imho) a wrong direction with 2.0.

Cog is exactly what i needed, and I can't believe I didn't find this before, and that this app is not more 'famous'. I know a ton of people who liked the simplicity of say, winamp on pc, and i wonder where the corresponding demand is on mac os.

are there any ways to support the project?

Re: You guys rock

Seconded. Thanks so much for developing this, and I hope vspader knows the effort is appreciated!

+1

Streaming ogg radio flawlessly as we speak...  Cog has been indispensable since moving to Mac in 2006.
Just update the damn homepage already... it's almost 2010! tongue

Re: You guys rock

Cog 0.08 r1934 is awesome. It has no bugs, and is very stable.

Keep up with the development.

I promise I will donate you money as soon I get a new job! Don't forget to add a Pay Pal donation link in the website. big_smile

Re: You guys rock

No bugs? I wish! smile Thanks though. I'm trying when I find time.

Cog doesn't accept donations anymore, so just donate to the charity of your choice.

Re: You guys rock

must tell you,
I was switching franticly between play/cog/vlc but all of them did not please me as winamp did back in the pc days...
even installed parallels just for playing music on win7 but it was a foolish thing to do.

had been wondering how come mac does not have a proper music player that has, for instance, an unbuggy random feature.
to sum it, today I installed cog 0.08 r1934 AND IT IS MAGNIFICENT!!!!!

great new features, no need to use play or vlc anymore. i hope.

Thanks vspader, you just made my day. really.

Re: You guys rock

I agree completely.
It's a whole new ballgame since 0.07----- actually I didn't install it a month ago because it was labeled with a "24-bit" feature I don't really care about...How about telling us all the MAJOR new improvements made???! I would have used it if it said the shuffle feature was improved, not to say all the other cool things added and improved.

to put it in other words----don't keep it to yourself, let the world know - cause it's a great piece of software for us music geeks and unique in the mac world. We don't intend on using iTunes.....it's annoying and does not play our FLACs and APEs smile Though my machine does download it each time software update is up...

same as winamp was for windows.
