Topic: Upsampling

hey, this is my first post, and I'd just like to thank Cog for being my savior for playing lossless audio on my macbook.  anyway, for those Mac users who have higher end audio cards, as I'd like to, some kind of upsampling feature would be cool, i.e. to 96KHz or 192KHz.  This might help reduce mathematical error when adjusting volume, not that it'd be very audible, but for peace of mind smile

Re: Upsampling

Cog should convert the samplerate to whatever your output device default is set to. You can change it in the Audio/MIDI setup system preference, I believe.

Re: Upsampling

If the sample rate is 44.1 and the file is aswell, is there any processing happening?
In other words, is playback bit transparent when the file is the same sample rate as output?

Re: Upsampling

I don't know. Cog uses CoreAudio to convert the data. Presumably, CoreAudio won't do any upsampling if the source/dest sample rates match.
