Weird. Any special steps to reproduce? Left, Right shouldn't change the song, but space should pause/play. Does clearing cog's preferences fix it?

I've seen this also. It's a bug. Streaming isn't really working 100% yet.

Sorry, no. It's not incredibly high on the list at the moment either.

Indeed!

That's weird. How many songs are we talking about here? Millions? Could be something going on with integer overflows.

Cog does some limited streaming, but it's nowhere near stable/good yet. Any ideas for how a podcast would present itself, UI-wise?

2016?! Yeah, sorry all. Been a lot busier than I expected.

The file drawer is in a state of flux on the nightly because I'm in the middle of adding the dual drawer/window behavior (A lot of which can be moved to NSViewController).

Interesting icons, kind of steampunk. I like them and I'll keep them in mind. Maybe one day Cog will support Xtras similar to Adium. I'm very fond of the current icon though. I'll probably drop the Cog text, replacing it with a badge showing the current status (stop, play, pause). However, seeing as how the original for the current icon is raster and not fully scalable, I'll either need to get the current one remade or pick a different one.

Yes, this is a limitation of the current way gapless playback is implemented. At that point the playback system has no idea what file's being played by the speakers. I'm pretty sure I have a bug in trac about it.

Thanks. Cog doesn't work with all shoutcast servers yet. It's a bug!

There is a new spotlight window in the nightly builds which kinda gives you some library-like filtering abilities. I don't like libraries and it's unlikely Cog will have one.

If you'd like to contribute, just send me an email with the patch and your sourceforge username. If it passes muster, I'll add you to the commit list and you can commit directly to the subversion repository.

This is very likely not Cog's fault. It crashed in the OS X kernel. Maybe you could try sharing the disk on the mac mini via a different protocol? Sorry, but there isn't very much I can do about this.

Hi all.

Sorry to be a bother. I've been very busy with some changes happening in my life. Needless to say, I'm doing well big_smile.

Cog will also be fine. I've been keeping my hands off the project for the past few months because of some uncertainties.

I will still be keeping my hands off for the next few weeks, but I'll be able to start back up shortly after. When I do, there are a few minor restrictions on future development:
* Cog can no longer play obscure formats.
* All songs must have a minimum 2 seconds of silence between them.
* Playback must contain a 17kHz tone so young whippersnappers won't use it.

Actually, those are just new features I've been considering roll. Here are the actual restrictions:
*  No more donations. It's been disabled for a few weeks now and nobody seems to have noticed, so I don't think I'm missing out on much tongue.
*  Cog can't have a store. Since a store is the last thing I'd want in Cog, I don't think that's a problem either.

That's all! Cog will still be open source, waiting to be forked at the drop of a hat. wink

I'll fix it, shouldn't be a big deal. Also, I put the builds in the Unstable feed.

The old one did not have that feature. Send me a copy of the mp3 files so I can take a look.

The Mp3 file needs to have a LAME tag that it can read the gapless info from.

The divider issue is fixed as of r904.

r903 has a proof of concept for using them in windows too. It just doesn't have the autosaving goodness (yet). I dunno how this is going to end up, but it's one step closer to moving this stuff into a plugin.

I think I'm going to take a cue from Firefox and call it the sidebar.

Technically, this could be extended so any of them could be shoved in a sidepane, drawer, or panel. Although...I don't know how crazy I want to get with it.

I think sidebar works best for now though, and one at a time is good enough.

Very nice.

I added some basic support for side panes in r901. The left/bottom pane is always a fixed size, so I don't think horizontal scroll will be necessary for the playlist. I did it in a general way so hopefully other things can take advantage of it in the future (Last.fm pane? HMM!!)

Should be fixed as of r896.

If it happens again, email me a copy of the preferences before deleting them.

I'm pretty sure I haven't touched those bits since Vasfed put them in.
