note: Nightly only works on Mac OS 10.5 Leopard.

(nvm)

1) Switch to mini mode.

2) File > Add File or Add URL or Save As

3) ???

4) PROFIT

8)

Have the Info Inspector respect Increase/Decrease Font Size.

(This would most likely require the window to be resizable.)

A super simple make-shift solution:

Make sure the playlist is empty.

Quit Cog.

Go find ~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.m3u
(where ~ is your Home folder)

Get Info

Check "Locked"

Yeah, the Growl notifications come at really weird times now.

Like, you load a bunch of songs, no metadata, no Growl notification.

Then you load one song after those, you get 3 Growl notifications, and the metadata is now loaded. o_O

7)

A Path entry (maybe under Filename).

Seeing as paths can be quite long, I think it makes sense to have it available in the Info Inspector, such that one does not have to necessarily turn on the Path column in order to see the path.

Bump.

Issue still remains. (erm... no pun intended)

Well, mostly horizontal resizing.

Vertical resizing probably wouldn't accomplish much, except maybe for the cover art? (I don't have many songs with cover art, so I don't know if there are many sizes for cover art, or if it's a standard size that is used.)

Also,

4)

I notice that for a lot of songs, the Genre says "Blues" but it's not.

5)

When there's no Track, it should be blank instead of "No Selection"

6)

When there's no Year, it should be blank instead of "0"

The new Info Inspector is quite awesome!

Very useful, especially for those who don't have a lot of columns displayed, but who still want to sometimes see the metadata of songs.

A few suggestions and issues:

1)

It'd be nice if the window were resizable (and would remember its size).

This is mainly because often, the song info are longer than the field and you end up with text cut off in the middle.

Which brings me to the next point:

2)

If text is cut off in the middle because it is too long ("Title: Some Reall...ong Name"), there should be a tooltip when the mouse hovers over it.

3)

When cover art is missing, I feel that instead of a giant distracting question mark, there should simply be nothing.

Standard Mac OS X behavior for windows since 10.5 Leopard: windows can be dragged by the titlebar, empty space in the toolbar (if available) and the status bar (if available).

Dragging empty space in the toolbar does not work in the mini mode window.

It does in the regular window however.

Big bump.

Easy fix? Is it just that everything is shifted by one?

Well, perhaps for the time being, no metadata for AO formats should be fine.

File names are sufficient.

I'll post a sample later.

By AO formats, I mean PSF, miniPSF, PSF2, etc.

If an AO format file is currently playing, loading another from the Finder or the File Tree pane will make Cog beachball. (But it won't crash; it'll actually keep playing, but while beachballing.)

It won't happen if you're loading an AO format file via the playlist (i.e., file is in playlist, you double-click it in the playlist).

Also, it won't happen if you're playing another format, say, MP3, then an AO format,
or an AO format, then, say, MP3.
