vspader: sorry, you have misunderstood me I guess... By dockin/pin floating window I just mean an addtitional option which allows the user to froze the window position in relation to main window, as a result, if user wants to move cog's main window, he will move the floating window too, but it stays in the same static relations (metrics) regarding the main window.
If this is impossible to do, you always can give to the user option which allow on do a selection between available list models -- the drawer or a floating window.

I hope that floating window/inspector will really improve quality and flexibility if there could be a docking/pin option for that window, to give user a possibility to clip the window with main application window. Then the window could be moving together with Cog main window. It will not bother a functionality mentioned by Fuga.
I am a developer too, I usually have 20 open windows at one time and one more small unconnected window is rather needless, that is why drawer was really good solution for me. I really hope that pin option for this window will be possible to do for you guys.
