dpromsky, whatever works best for you. as long as people know that cog is undergoing development and improvement again, it's all the same to me. btw, my snow leopard box has been down for a while now and i've been using my 2006 macbook pro as a main machine, which runs tiger. so, out of curiosity, have you or anyone else done any recent work on the 0.07 branch of cog?
p.s. i did the hebrew localization for cog 0.07 so whenever cog 0.08 gets closer to a stable release, let me know if you need any extra strings translated.

Re: Audio output chain: customisable with Audio Units? (17 replies, posted in Features)
bumping this again... because it would be amazing to have audio unit support. i mean i'm content with cog 0.07 on my tiger box and the 0.08 builds on my leopard machine, but having audio unit support in either (hopefully both ) version(s) of cog, would complete the "cog experience" for me. audio unit support would be a huge step forward and allow cog to maintain it's minimalist but highly functional aesthetic, while adding a huge host of new options and possibilities.
p.s. sbooth's play supports/hosts audio units... maybe some code could be utilized from there?

i hope he's alright as well, it's just well... i would definitely think that being the lead developer on a kick-ass audio player like cog would be at-least somewhat a part of vs's life. which is precisely why i'm curious.

or cog's development in general? haven't seen any action from vs on the forums & development-wise things have seemed pretty tame for a while now, so i'm just wondering.

just thought i would chime in and add that, the aforementioned toolbar button still does not seem to work in r910.

ah, i see what you mean & have to agree... whether or not one's choice of torrent client is a factor in the issue, an error message is obviously preferred behaviour over an unexpected crash. makes sense.

Re: .shn question... (14 replies, posted in Help)
it's hebrew, it literally means 'many thanks'. i try to throw some hebrew into everyday conversation, whether face to face, on the phone or on the webs... you know, so i don't slowly forget it how to use it conversationally. it's funny sometimes, because face to face i'll chuck in some hebrew for good measure when speaking to people who don't know it at all, and they either think i am disturbed, or ask me what it means. also, a good ice breaker for any awkward situation is to walk into a room and start introducing yourself to people in a language they don't speak.

i wanted to follow suit and say that with the horizontal scroll-bar removed, the entire "cog experience" feels so much more cohesive. with that one little ui element removed, the whole functional aesthetic of cog seems much more polished.

Re: Four times cog in Finder's context menu (5 replies, posted in Bugs)
no problem. that terminal command basically forces launchservices to rebuild it's database of applications and their file-type associations. but don't worry, any changes you might have made prior the rebuilding (for example, if you set cog as the default application for mp3 files instead of itunes) wlll still remain unchanged, safely tucked away in the com.apple.LaunchServices.plist file in ~Library/Preferences. that line should solve your issue without any repercussions, i have to use it frequently. no, the problem most likely will not disappear by itself though, unless apple releases an update to address the issue or there are some changes made to the sparkle framework, so expect to be using the line fairly often for a while.
p.s. i went outside. i came back in eventually though, because it started to rain like the dickens.
p.p.s. don't use that command on tiger. it only works on leopard. there is a different command for tiger which is as follows;
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
