Thanks for the messages.

I may try the nightly build, but in all honesty, I have found another App that I've been using regularly instead of Cog.

I'm using Vox right now and like it a lot. I may go back to revisiting Cog but right now, Vox has been close to 100% satisfying. I will take a look at that other tagging app, though. Thanks for the info.

Cheers!

What tagging app were you using? Maybe I'll try it. I used "Tag" by sbooth. Perhaps you have a better one in mind. If I have to re-tag, it will take a lot of work. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll try!

Thanks again.

Hello from So. Calif. and thanks for your reply.

I think you're right in pointing out that it may be a bad .cue file. I took one of the large APE files, dumped it onto XLD and created separate FLAC tracks for each of the numbers. Then it generated a new .cue sheet, which I then dumped onto Cog and all the tags show up and it plays fine.

However, I don't think I want to do this to all the APE and FLAC files I have. I don't know how to create a new .cue sheet in XLD. Any suggestions?

Thanks again.

Here's an example: I have a complete CD burned as one APE file. There is an accompanying .CUE file and .log file.

If I dump the CUE file onto my Cog playlist, all the individual numbers show up nicely with the accompanying tags: artist, album, length, year, genre, track no. However, when I press the "PLAY" button nothing happens, except that Cog skips to the very last track on the playlist and bolds it in the window, without playing it.

I can't get any results using the CUE file, so I am forced to dump the one big APE file onto the Cog window. It shows up alright, just as one file with no track information. I have no way of selecting a particular track that might be halfway through the big file. It's just a 1 hour, 45-minute file to be played.

I've had this issue on more than one CUE files. I've looked at the individual CUE files in a text editor and they all appear to be fine, with more than enough requisite information, seemingly.

Is this a bug in Cog or is something wrong on my end?

TIA for any assistance. By the way, I'm on Mac 10.4.11.

Hello all:

Been using Cog for a couple of months now. I appreciate the development; lots of musical formats can be played. And to save desktop space the interface can be fairly minimized, though not as much as iTunes', which would be nice. There are some issues I am having with it, however so all is not perfect. I have posted those in the "Help" forum. If anyone has any insight they can provide, thanks in advance.

Hello,
This is my first post. I looked around before posting, trying to find an answer, and I didn't seem to be able to. So here goes. Sorry if this is old territory.

I just spent quite awhile tagging FLAC files using sbooth's "Tag." But when I opened the files up in Cog, none of the information showed, just the title and length. No Album, Artist, Track Number, nothing. I also looked at some FLAC files in Tag that were heavily tagged, yet they also show nothing when I open them in Cog.

I looked at a previous forum post and it said to trash a cog plist file in my home preferences folder, so I did, but that didn't solve the problem.

What's the problem? TIA for any insight. By the way, I am using Mac OS 10.4.11.
