Hi using cogx 0.07 r717,

The timeline issue is back, during the play of long mp3's handmade, or downloaded, the timeline/searchbar gives a different position / time and jumpes from one position to another when searching forward and back!

leopard 10.5.2 macpro

Of course first things first... UI interfaces and maybe playlist support of some kind...

But as I understand WMA might be an option in the future for COG??? Videolan is kinda instable.... and a resource hogger...

Was just amazed that one song didn't want to play in cog 0.08 r651, and it was WMA audio file.

Did do a forum search but no results so can it be possible in a next release?

Hi,

A lot of bugs in the nightly...

Volume: changing volume works jumpy and going down in volume is OKAY, but going up in volume makes all the music I play afterwards sound noisy and bad.
So a restart of Cog is required to make it sound normal again, so I leave volume button alone....

Timeline: timeline shows wrong timecode/ position, on mp3/flac files... I don;t know what happens but its not okay, when the timer shows 2:54 and its already at 65:44 minutes

Cue files: with mp3, make the whole program lockup...

BUT didn't have the strange leopard related bug... with playlist items being shown double! big_smile

Keep up the good work, your player is the only one which can play flac etc other heavy formats without hickups and smoothly while putting a lot of stress on the cpu when doing intensive designing/virtualisation!!!

Yep the problem is back AGAIN :-(

I try using the nightly build 0.08r651

AHA big_smile

BTW is there a way to turn this feature on/off?  "like a button allow/limit volume above 100%"
because it make my speakers really sound broken... although it might be cool for laptop users

When I play a FLAC file 24bit, and have the volume-bar set to 100% it sounds if it got through a compressor, and makes noise in the heavy-parts.
Does COG-0.07 has a built in compressor like VLC? "I hope not..."
it only seems to affect FLAC files more than MP3

VLC plays the file fine at 100%, but gives the same distortion when going to 200/400%

So Is it a compressor issue? Does Cog has one? Is compressor the right word?

If it happens again I will take a look at the Console, and send you the affected audio FILES.

thanks again for quick response big_smile

deleting 'org.cogx.cog.plist' file fixed this! for both users!

I will try if I'm able to reproduce this strange behaviour...

thanks for super fast response!

Sometimes when I search in the timeline of the audio files, the file re-starts playing at the beginning, but the timeline shows different position and time.

This happens with FLAC files but sometimes also with mp3

PS: The timeline is very thin!!!! a lot of times when i try to skip to a certain point, i accidentally press the timer or something else, Could you make a thicker bar, or make somekind of FULLSCREEN modus with a gigantic EASY TIMELINE bar?

First of all, great player!!!

Situation:
After adding a extra user, and enabling fast user switching and opening cog, the playlist was empty, but the summed up timer underneath shows the correct length of the playlist, when I press next button and play, the music starts playing... thats very strange... "so no names or whatever in the playlist"

When editing 'playlist view bar', "#,Album, Artist, Genre, Length, Title, Track, Year" I disabled all of them... than re-enabled... all
And now the playlist has double FIELDS???,

So the bar shows:
ARTIST/ALBUM/ TRACK/ETC                                +                          ARTIST/ALBUM/TRACK/ETC
Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon/ 01/                                              Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon/ 01/

I already removed cog, from the applications folder and reinstalled the fresh one from the DMG but no difference?
Will disable fast user switching and try if the problem disappears, and keep you updated!
