Thanks. I'll fix this tonight.

Ok, I updated all the localizations, moved things around so they fit, and all that. Everything should be 100%. (r512)

I think this actually is a feature request. smile

Right now, it should silently skip the invalid files.

It's not the best way of handling it, I agree. I think maybe turning the text red would be a good idea, (Popping up an alert sheet would be annoying, in my opinion), but still moving on to the next song. If you have any other ideas on how to show the problem to the user, I'd be glad to hear them. Some people have suggested watching the file, and updating the path automatically when it moves, so that's a possibility too. I guess that would involve not letting them delete the file (or maybe removing it from the playlist if it gets put in the Trash).

I just added a checkmark next to them.

Thanks, I've updated the link. I think sourceforge changed the names of the SVN servers recently.

Fixed in r511.

Actually, no. There usually aren't preferences for Growl outside of the Growl.prefpane. A couple of examples I looked at are Adium, Colioquy,  and Transmit. Couldn't find growl preferences in any of them. Only app that has an option that I could find is Last.fm, but I'd say it's the one that actually stray from the norm.

Edit: Actually, Adium does have an option for it. You specify what events generate growl notifications. I can add a preference for it, if people want it. Add it to the 0.07 wishlist.

It could make things somewhat confusing, if growl notifications are enabled in Cog but disabled in Growl, or vice versa. I'd hate to muck around with another applications preferences, but I don't see another way of resolving that issue.

I can just do it. Thanks. If anyone else wants to just post the response (assuming this thing can handle those crazy international characters), post away.

There was the "Press Key..." thing that you pointed out. I don't know off hand if you submitted a change for that. I think thats the only recent thing though.

Yeah, but if I don't have a forum for it, they would be littered around the development forum, or people would just email me them. If they put them here, I can safely ignore them and people can feel as if they were listened to! tongue

Cog can definitely still use some enhancement.  I can see a lot of changes coming. Nothing most people would actually notice, probably. Things like more plugins, a better playback system, support for multi-track files, all that stuff. I want Cog to be extensible, where the core is very minimalist, but you can still have it make coffee with it, should you desire (and someone wrote a plugin for it).

Well, there were a few reasons.

The main one is that I was bored this weekend. All that's left is localizations, so I have nothing to work on. Also, since moving the website, I've been thinking of moving the forums as well. I figured if there's ever a time to move Cog to a new forum, it's before 0.06 hits the shelves (I'm shooting for this weekend, but basically it will be whenever I receive the completed localizations, and have time to actually build and package the release).

There were a few other reasons. For one, Stephen and I occasionally get emails regarding each others projects because people get confused about who the author is, so hopefully this will help clear that up. Also, Stephen gets a lot of forum spam, and whatever extra traffic he gets because of Cog probably doesn't help at all, so this may alleviate that problem a little.

On top of all that, I really like the new smell of fresh forum glue.

BetterZip altered the way the tbz association is defined, I think.

Hah. Good. I'll mark it as resolved (Maybe I should make a Resolved Bugs forum.)

Safari and the NSURLDownload class both do some crazy things with mime-types. If the mime-type is known by the system, and the file does not have the extension the system says it does, it adds it to the suggested filename. BetterZip associates with the Bzip mime-type and associates it with bz2 and a few other extensions, but not tbz. I fixed it by changing the mime-type to a made-up one (x-tarbzip2), so OS X just leaves the extension as it is. I'm thinking of changing it to x-cogupdate just so theres no chance of future conflicts.

If it's still not working for you, then I didn't fix it. hmm

Is it still broken for you?

Nevermind! I have succeeded!
I'm in a bit of a hurry, I'll post an explanation when I get back.

Hmm. Betterzip seems to have done something. Something bad. Well, at least it's broke on my machine now too!

Sparkle doesn't support the .tar.bz2 extension, only tbz.
