The 1st pref still doesn't work in r894.

If you haven't set the 1st pref yet, or if you've deleted the pref "openingFilesBehavior," then it'll be set to "Clear playlist and play."

But if you change it to anything, then it'll get stuck as "Enqueue."

Yeah, I can confirm this.

Everything worked fine in r890.

It doesn't work starting in r891.

Only the "When opening files" pref is affected. The "When opening files with Shift or Command Control held" works fine.

It's fine if you've set "When opening files" in r890 or older, then update to r891 and later, then don't change the pref. But once you change it, you can't change it back; it'll get stuck as "Enqueue files."

I notice that in org.cogx.cog.plist, since r891, there is a pref called "openingFilesBehavior"

Is this the culprit?

Well, here we are, 4 months later. ;p

As said before, this would be great when used in conjunction with the "toolbar only" mode/mini mode, though it can be quite useful even in the regular mode.

Bump.

It'd be nice if this were fixed.

I find myself using the "toolbar only" mode/mini mode more and more nowadays, and it's be neat if it could stay the way it is between launches.

A little OT: Anybody else out there using the mini mode a lot?

^ You mean if you insert the symbol/character of an ellipsis, right?

Obviously, 3 periods/dots won't work either.

D'oh! Looks like my memory failed me here.

There's just been so many topics that I sometimes think of something, and I literally have no idea whether I've made a topic about it before or not.

Right now, in the File Tree Panel, multi-track files can be expanded like folders or playlists.

However...

1) Double-clicking/dragging the entries within does not work. (does not play/enqueue the entries)

2) The numbering starts at 0 instead of 1.

I guess the solution is either to fix these, or the "easier" solution would simply to not have multi-track files expand.

Well, we've got 3 different behaviors.

If we only have 1 modifier, then we'll be trying to fit 3 pigeons into 2 pigeonholes. wink

This will cover all bases.

edit: Besides, some people don't like having the slow-mo animation in the Finder, which is a side effect when using Shift.

Opening files in Cog: [X] Plays the file
                        [ ] Enqueues the file
(Hold shift to reverse this preference)

Clear playlist on Open: [X] Enabled
                        [ ] Disabled
(Hold CMD+Control to reverse this preference)

Might need a bit more space between the Apple Remote section and the Update Feed section, and between the Update Feed section and the Output Device section.

Other than that, IMO, it looks OK.

But I wonder what Vincent thinks of this though...
