It's the nightly build. Change your update settings in the preferences and check for updates.

It was me. Just a small bugfix though, don't get your hopes up. :-)

Hrm. I thought I disabled it, but I guess not. Oh well, now it's uninstalled.

You should be able to go to Control->Stop to get Cog to stop using the file.

Yep, I was able to get it to cut it off too. I've turned it off until I have a chance to look into it.

What version are you using? What are your language preferences set to? The latest nightly isn't fully localized, so something may be happening there.

The logging is either in the app, the CogAudio framework, or the plugins. You may have to search all those projects for NSLog to find them.

Cog converts the file to the output device's sample rate.

I hereby dub Cog zombieware.

I gladly accept patches from others, am more than willing to add people to the commit list if they want to be.  I'd even consider handing the project over to someone that has the time to devote to it. The thing is, Cog is open source already. Anybody can download it and modify it as they see fit. Not many have though.

That's interesting. It points to a problem with the localization files. Did you try trashing it and downloading it again from scratch?

If that doesn't fix it, your ram may be doing something wonky to your machine.

Right, it should work now, but it's very very ugly. If I remember right, output is always assumed to be just two channels now. Gross, yes, but it works for most cases.

No bugs? I wish! smile Thanks though. I'm trying when I find time.

Cog doesn't accept donations anymore, so just donate to the charity of your choice.

Cog is still alive, but recent work has just been maintenance and bug fixes. I'd like to do more, but just don't have time. As for what to do, well, you're free to do whatever you'd like. There are plenty of feature requests and bugs reported on these forums.

If you need any help, feel free to email me (vspader (at) users.sf (dot) net) and I'll be glad to offer whatever I can.

I personally just don't have enough time to devote to a proper 0.08 release, so making it beta isn't worthwhile.

That's interesting. I see the same behavior with other apps after hiding/unhiding them, so it may just be the way it's supposed to work.

That's bizarre. Does it only happen with certain files or file types? Anything special about your setup?

I'd still like to take a look, but it does sound like something strange is going on.

Take a sample of Cog when it is in this state with Activity Monitor. That should help narrow it down.

The GME plugin hasn't changed that much. It looks like Cog's just failing to check for an error, meaning it'd be unable to play the file even if it didn't crash.

The error GME gives is:
Error loading file: /Users/vspader/Downloads/ASMA/Unknown/Bach_Mix.sap Digimusic not supported

The GME library Cog uses to read these files just doesn't support this type.
