This would be the ideal situation I guess. I'm all for it if it's easy enough to implement.

Topic: [Resolved] Control > Play/Pause not doing what it's supposed to (2 replies, posted in Squashed Bugs)
It seems using Play/Pause from the Control menu in the menubar (or pressing Cmd-P) just makes the currently highlighted song start playing from the beginning, and doesn't actually play/pause the currently playing song. Having nothing highlighted and using it makes Cog start playing from the first track in the playlist window. Pressing Space, however, does carry out the correct play/pause function.

In the meantime, you can always just Cmd-Tab to Cog and then use Cmd-Up/Down to control the volume from there.

I did a quick search before posting and couldn't find anything about Quicksilver. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about but if not, I shall explain.
Quicksilver, being the awesome application/file/whatever launcher that it is, has the ability to catalogue things like media libraries. In fact, there is an iTunes module for it that catalogues your entire iTunes library and allows you to search it at the touch of a button, and start playing from the results. For example, I could hit Ctrl-F8 (depending on what keyboard trigger I've set), type in "Lith" and it would instantly find all songs/albums/artists that contain that entry. It's also clever enough to realise spelling mistakes if there's something in my library with a similar spelling (e.g. typing "Liht" should bring up similar results). For me, the only thing it finds is the song Lithium by Nirvana, which I can start playing by just hitting Enter. It will now carry on playing through my library starting with that song. If it found some other songs, I could select the one I wanted through the Up/Down arrow keys and hitting Enter.
This isn't just limited to playing through your library starting with some song, though. Searching for "Nirv" brings up Nirvana, and hitting Enter now will make iTunes play through every song I have by Nirvana and then stop. Searching for "Nev" brings up a few results; a little bit of scrolling with the arrow keys and I soon find (you guessed it) the album Nevermind by Nirvana. Hitting Enter now makes iTunes play through this album and then stop.
As you can see, this means I don't ever need to even switch to iTunes to change the song/album/artist I wanna play. Combine that with the keyboard triggers I've set for common playback actions (something that I see Cog now has with 0.06) and I hardly ever need to switch to iTunes at all! If we can get a similar Cog module made for Quicksilver, I'd die a happy man.
Thanks for reading.
Edit: Oh, and you really should install Quicksilver with the iTunes modules if you haven't tried it before. It really is enjoyable to use and will show you exactly why I want a similar Cog module so badly.
