It may be because the filename doesn't have the m3u extension

It does! Try to reproduce all the steps, you'll find out:)

but for now you can just save the file with the .m3u extension and then open it with Cog.

Saving the file to the disk make Cog load the playlist but it does not play the tracks:|

Thank you very much for your support and good will to improve Cog - That's really cool program. On OSX I was lookinfg for something, lighweight and similiar to foobar on Windows, and Cog seems  to suit:)
