Is the bottom image is a "mini player?"

Re: Toolbar Based UI (39 replies, posted in Development)
I like it. In my case I'd have it separate down below and absent above. If I'm thinking right, such would allow more room for my long song and/or performer titles.
Plus, I am one that likes a big seek bar.
Whatever. I just like that Cog does what I need no matter how and for that I stand in thanks to all who work on this.

Re: Toolbar Based UI (39 replies, posted in Development)
My concern is tag info showing, especially track titles and performers. I do mostly classical and things can get long. But I wonder how Pearl Jam's Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town would look in the toolbar display (longest non-classical title I have). But overall, I like the direction you're taking.

Another vote here for toolbar implementation and a sound slider (though I would not mind testing the knob acting as a slider thing).

If not a big thing to roll in double-clicking would be good.
And a modifier key would be even better for the clear playlist thing. Say, have it set one way in Prefs but to (not) do it when a modifier is used.

Re: Removing Playlists (or, how to manage) (5 replies, posted in Help)
Yep. In the Drawer showing my Music directory I have a folder named Playlists in which is a m3u file I want to get rid of. I can not figure out how to esily do it from within Cog. Uh, it just dawned on me that the Drawer is just a reflection of ~/Music and so went to Finder and of course was able to delete from there.
Nevermind.
Well, maybe the ability to work within Cog with items in the Drawer might be a feature request?

I am just recently using creating and saving playlists (m3u). I save them in a folder in my music directory named Playlists.
1) How can I remove one from there now?
2) What might be a better way to manage playlists?

I'd never noticed a performance hit but just checked. Holy crap! One CD's worth of AppleLossless had Real=161MB and VM=452MB. Grabbed yesterday's build (r587) and with same files Real=61 and VM=326MB. It'll climb to 66 or so and then down to 57ish.
...
About 20 minutes later now and @ 36MB Real and 329 VM.

I only have a couple I use but in my desire to split from iTunes sure would be nifty.
Nothing against iTunes - just the rest of the family uses it and on what will be the family music machine I'd just as soon keep the greedy, reckless vermin away from my stuff.

Me, too. Me, too!
Am slowly converting much to AppleLossless. I have nothing against iTunes but eventually all music is going to reside on one server and I plan to keep my own world separate using Cog.

I am usually on a MBP with only 12 F-keys.
